In Loving Memory
Dave loved watching sports, especially the Vikings, the Twins, the Wild, and NASCAR. His favorite TV shows were the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones (although I’m not sure he would have liked the final season!) He also loved going fishing and camping. His favorite place was “up north,” preferably time spent in Ely. And he was a loving caregiver to our mother who has Alzheimer’s Disease. Dave left us unexpectedly on January 10th after being diagnosed only a month earlier with esophageal cancer. He was ready for the battle, and although he knew the outcome wouldn’t change, Dave wasn’t about to leave this world without a fight. We never had a chance to talk about his wishes for being a donor; we never had a chance to talk about a lot of things those last few days. But when I got a call asking if I wished for him to be a donor, I did not hesitate. Now someone out there has the gift of sight because of Dave. And I know that Dave would be happy about that. All of his friends and family miss him so very much and he will remain in our hearts forever.
